We've recently seen an increase in members receiving calls from fraudsters posing as Freedom 1st. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to stop these calls; however, there are steps you can take to protect yourself should you receive one.

No matter what company you deal with regarding your finances, know that companies do not call you requesting personal information, as they already know the information that the fraudsters are seeking. As a best practice, never release any personal information over the phone if requested by a caller. Instead, hang up immediately and call the credit union to verify the legitimacy of the inquiry. Additionally, please note that if the credit union needs to contact you, we would always identify ourselves and would never ask for confidential personal information.
